Be a part of the fast growing recreational industry of Scuba diving by learning how to teach others how to participate in this sport. This curriculum takes an entry-level Open Water Scuba instructor (OWSI) and provides him/her with the experience, training, and knowledge to teach advanced Scuba specialty courses, by becoming a Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT).
Course work includes in-depth study of specialty Scuba courses, as well as diving experience and teaching opportunities. In order to achieve the MSDT rating, an open water instructor must meet the following PADI criteria:
1. Certify 25 PADI students
2. Choose 5 specialty courses in which they have the diver specialty and have logged a minimum 20 dives for that specialty. If students already have the specialty, they do not need to participate in the class, however they are required to obtain the extra 16 dives to complete the minimum requirements.
Graduates will be thoroughly prepared to successfully perform the duties required by Master Scuba diving trainers (MSDT) in the Scuba diving industry and will receive international recognition for that training through the PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructor) organization.
